Bill Shannon is for real, he isn’t gliding along on wheelie shoes and he isn’t a stunt man. He is the CrutchMaster as he is affectionately known in the dance world. He is a self-taught conceptual dancer who uses his crutches to perform his incredible choreography around the world.
The beauty of Bills movement is as inspirational as it is mesmerising. The fluidity of his dance moves meant that it didnt take us long to realise that he was the perfect embodiment of VISA flow campaign. He was first spotted in a promo for RJD2 shot by Joey Garfield that was featured on the Saatchi & Saatchi New Directors showcase. In the TV ad not only does Bills choreography represent life flowing effortlessly but his flow and movement throughout the film turns a mundane shopping trip into something quite magical. Bill is an amazing artist, a one off, and his commitment to making this film as good as it could be was unparalleled.
